Based in Easton, Pennsylvania, the Lafayette Leopards are members of the Patriot League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Leopards joined the PL in 1986 and have played their home games at the Fisher Field Stadium since 1926.
In their football history, the Leopards have won three national football championships in the early years; more recently, they have claimed five PL titles and three NCAA Tournament Berths from 2004 to 2006.
With a 7-4 overall record for the 2008 season, the Leopards football team ended in 4th place of the PL, finishing in the conference play with an even 3-3 record and losing the last two games of the season against Holy Cross and Lehigh.
