Based in Valparaiso, Indiana, the Crusaders are members of the Pioneer League Football Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. Before becoming part of the Pioneer League in 1993, the Crusaders competed in the Midwest Intercollegiate Football Conference.
The Crusaders won their first outright championship in 2003, when they won the PLF championship game and since then, they haven’t won another one. In Indiana, Valparaiso plays their home games at Brown Field.
With a 3-8 overall record for the 2008 season, the Valparaiso football team grounded in 8th place of the PLF with a conference play record of 2-6, losing the last game of the season against Drake 0-32.
