Based in Davidson, North Carolina, the Davidson Wildcats are members of the Pioneer League Football Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 2001. Before joining the PFL, the Wildcats competed in the Southern Conference and the Colonial League.
The Davidson Wildcats play their home games at the Richardson Stadium since it first opened in 1923. The Wildcats have won only one conference title in all their years of football.
Last season 2008, the Wildcats finished with an overall record of 4-7 and bottomed out in seventh place of the PFL with a conference record of 3-5, winning the last game of the season against Butler 46-34.
