Based in Morehead, Kentucky, the MSU Eagles are members of the Pioneer League Football Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 2001. The Eagle, before entering the PLF, played in the OVC.
The Eagles play their home games at the Jayne Stadium since 1964. In all their history of football, Morehead State has never won a conference title, but have hopes to do so in the future.
For the 2008 season, the Eagles ended with an overall record of 6-6 in the season and finishing in sixth place of the PFL. In conference play, the Morehead football team ended with a 4-4 record, winning the last two games of the season against Dayton and Campbell.
