The Tigers football team competes in the NCAA Division I-AA, currently as an independent.
Previous to the moving to Division I-AA, Savannah State was a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference where held the championship titles in 1938, 1948, 1950 and 1956.
The school recently applied for membership in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The team’s only NCAA playoff appearance occurred in 1992. |
