Based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Arkansas Razorbacks are member of the Southeastern Conference in the NCAA Division I. Before joining the SEC in 1991, the Razorbacks competed in the Southwest Conference from 1915 to 1990. The Razorbacks play their home games in two locations: the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas and the War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Arkansas football team has claimed 1 national championship and 13 Southwest Conference championships. The Razorbacks have also won three SEC Western Division titles, but has yet to win a SEC Conference championship.

For the 2008 season, the Arkansas football team held an overall record of 5-7 and finished in the fourth place of the Western Division in the SEC. In conference play they ended with a 2-6 record. The Razorbacks improved their performance in 2009, the second year of Coach Bobby Petrino, and finished with a 7-5 record overall and 3-5 in the conference. In addition, the team was invited for the fourth time in their history to the Liberty Bowl.
