The Arkansas State University Indians is the athletic team affiliated with the Sun Belt Conference in the NCAA Division I.
In the 1980s, the school was a power source in NCAA Division I-AA, making four appearances in the playoffs, including the national championship game in 1986.
In 1998 the school of Arkansas State (ASU) sports program proved to be strong and balanced as they won the Commissioner's Cup of the Sun Belt Conference becoming the best overall athletic program by a league school. ASU also won the cup in 1995. |
The ASU's football program has achieved Olympic medals, and has participated in Super Bowls, claimed national championships, competed in the leagues of professional sports, set world records and brought national and international accomplishments.
