Florida International University also known as FIU or Florida International was created in 1965 and it is the fifth largest school in Florida. The university main campus is located in University Park in metropolitan Miami, Florida.
Florida International fields 17 varsity sports teams which are named the Golden Panthers. The Golden Panthers' athletic compete in the NCAA's Division I as part of the Sun Belt Conference in all sports except for men's soccer.
In football the school’s traditional rivals include Florida Atlantic University and the University of Miami.
