Based in Itta Benna, Mississippi, the Miss Valley State Delta Devils are members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Delta Devils became a member of the SWAC in 1968 and plays their home games at the Rice-Totten Stadium.

Mississippi Valley has never hasn’t won a title but has improved their program in recent years, ending in better positions of the East Division SWAC standings.

For the 2008 season, Mississippi Valley State football team ended with an overall record of 3-8 and finished in fifth place of the East Division in the SWAC. In conference play, they ended with a 1-6 record, losing the last two games of the season against Alabama A&M and Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
