In 1920 the Hawaii Warriors played their first intercollegiate game.
During the 1924-1925 seasons the team had an outstanding performance, therefore they became known as a “Wonder Team”.
In 1974 the Hawaii Warriors became an NCAA Division I Member and the team adopted the nickname “Rainbow Warriors”.
In 1979 the team joined the WAC Conference and later on in 2001 it was decided to change their nickname again to “Warriors”. |
Since 2002 up to this date the team has show a great performance in the Hawaii’s Bowl.
Currently, the “Warriors” have about 16 players in the NFL Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, Falcons and Broncos among others. June Sheldon has coached the team since 1998; he was the one who led the team to its first championship in 1999.
