Brad Johnson
Cowboys acquired a veteran quarterback with playoff and Super Bowl experience when they signed Brad Johnson on March 6, 2007. Hard to find reliable backups who have 17 years of experience.
He is a dependable backup who could keep the offense breathing if called upon for a few weeks. Whoever is under center in Dallas will always have a reliable rushing attack to lean on.
An efficient passer, Johnson gave the Cowboys a viable backup in 2007 who also helped Tony Romo settle into the role as the club's full time starter while also working with rookie free agent Richard Bartel. Johnson is again slated as the backup coming into the 2008 season, as his 61.8 completion percentage ranks sixth in NFL history among quarterbacks with over 3,000 career attempts.
