Saint Louis Rams

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, the St. Louis Rams are members of the West Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League. The franchise was first established in Cleveland, Ohio in 1936, but made several moves before moving permanently to St. Louis in the mid 1990s.

The Rams play their home games at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri.

The team has claimed two NFL Championships and one Super Bowl title, the latter of which occurred in 1999. Overall, the Rams have appeared in 27 playoffs, and have won 15 division titles and 6 conference championships, the last of which they attained in 2001.

In 2008, the Rams ended in 5th place of the NFL, having suffered through one of the team’s worst seasons. The St. Louis team finished in last place in the NFC West with a 2-14 record, marking its third consecutive losing season. However, the team hopes for restoration in the hands of its new coach, Steve Spagnuolo, for 2009.

Embarrassing could easily describe the 2009 season for the St. Louis Rams, but we will rather stick with painful. They could have ended the year winless (1-15) if it wasn’t for the 17-10 win at Detroit on Week 8. Running back Steve Jackson surpassed Eric Dickerson’s four 1,000+ rushing yards seasons in 2009. He rushed for 1,416 that year and led the NFC in this category, becoming the fourth player –Charles White, Lawrence Mc Cutcheon and Eric Dickerson - in franchise history to do so. And wide receiver Danny Amendola had 2,000+ combined yards, and now joins Dickerson, Jackson and Marshall Faulk as the only Rams that have do it.
