1946 as the first year of action for the San Francisco 49ers and the team was part of the All-America Football Conference. During the initial seasons the 49ers were not very consistent as they were not able to achieve any titles.

However; in the years to come especially the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s the 49ers won a total of 17 Division Championships besides their 5 conference titles and the most notable was the 5 Super Bowl wins being their last one in 1994. In 1950 the 49ers became part of the NFL.

The team holds a record of 513 wins, 406 loses and 15 ties from the 1946 season through 2007 including NFL & AAFC playoffs.  During the most recent campaign in 2007 the 49ers only managed a third place in the NFC West conference.
