The Seahawks’ history dates back to 1972 when a group of entrepreneurs began the negotiations to create an NFL franchise in the area.
In March 1976 the team played its first professional game; the group was part of the AFC for more than two decades until 2002 when they became part of the NFC.
The Seahawks’ latest seasons have been very successful as they finished first in the regular season standings for four consecutive years and have been to one Super Bowl appearance in 2005 where they lost to the Steelers 21-10.
The team’s first titles came in 1988 when they won their first Division Championship in total the Hawks have won 6 titles and one conference championship in 2005 (NFC). |
