Club Almagro
The Club Almagro is one of the most popular Argentinean soccer clubs from the West zone of the conurbano bonarense.
The club was founded in January 6, 1911, by a group of people following the union of the teams Jubile, San Martin Juniors and Lezica. Then the Club was officially established in 1916.
The team’s first playing field was the Pasaje Portugal de Almagro.
Important Facts
- 1917: the club affiliated to the Asociacion Argentina de Football and started to dispute the tournament of the Segunda Division de Ascenso.
- 1920: The team played the Asociación Amateurs.
- 1927: The team’s headquarters were moved to the Parque Chas.
- 1935: The Asociación Amateur and the Liga Argentina de Football joined and the club remained in the second division.
- 1937: the team is promoted to the First Division.
- On April 7, 1956: the current stadium Estadio de Almagro was inaugurated.
