San Lorenzo de Almagro
The Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro is located in the city of Buenos Aires Argentina, which is mainly based on soccer and is one of the most important clubs in Argentina and is known as one of the top five clubs in that country.
The club was founded in April 1st, 1908, and currently plays for the Argentinean First Division.
Their Stadium is the Estadio Pedro Bidegain known as the Nuevo Gasómetro, and its nickname is “El Ciclon” and the soccer fans are known as “The Cuervos”.
The idea emerged from a little group of young people that used to gather in the Mexico y Treinta y Tres Orientales corner to play soccer. These group decided to found a club and find another place with the help of the priest Lorenzo Massa.
At the beginning they were known as the “Los Forzosos de Almagro”. Then in 1908 the club was renamed to San Lorenzo de Almagro to honor the priest, but the father refused to accept and suggested it should be to honor the saint.
Their first tournament as professionals was against the Boca Juniors which was won by San Lorenzo with a final score of 2-0.
