Club Sportivo Italiano currently plays in the regionalized third tier of the Argentine Football Association.
It was founded in 1955 by Italian immigrants in the Florida neighborhood of the Vicente López Partido in the Buenos Aires Province. The club was originally named Asociazione del Calcio Italiano in Argentina. In 1978 it merged with the Sociedad Italiana and became known as Deportivo Italiano, the clubs third and latest name change occurred in 2000, when it became known as Club Sportivo Italiano.
Important Facts
The club has mainly appeared in the 2nd and third tiers of Argentine football, although in the 1986/87 they played their only season in the Argentine top division. Despite finishing bottom of the league and being relegated, this was their highest league finish ever.
