Participating in the Major League Soccer, FC Dallas is a soccer team located in Frisco, Texas. From its foundation in 1996 to 2004, the team was called Dallas Burn.
The team played at the Cotton Bowl from 1996 to 2002 but during 2003 they moved to a high school stadium in Southlake called the Dragon Stadium, due to financial issues. In 2004 they played back in the Cotton Bowl and finally in August 2005 the team started playing its home games at a soccer-specific stadium called the Pizza Hut Park, at Frisco, Texas and to commemorate this move, they also changed their name to the FC Dallas.
In 2006, the official supporters' club named the Hoops Nation was created. The others active support’s groups are Inferno and La Raza Latina.
Chicago Fire is the strongest FC Dallas' rival; these two teams compete since 2001 for the Brimstone Cup, with Dallas leading the series 6-2.
Over the years, Dallas has won only one national title, in the US Open Cup of 1997. During 2007, Dallas finished the season as runner-up in the US Open Cup but it didn’t do a good season in the MLS Cup. For the 2008, the FC Dallas ended in 5th place of the West Conference and 11th place overall and did not reach the playoffs.
