The Houston Dynamo is a United States' soccer team, based in Houston, Texas and plays in the Major League Soccer.
The Dynamo is the current MLS Cup champion thanks to their victory against the New England Revolution in the 2006 MLS Cup.
The Houston Dynamo plays its home games at Stadium Robertson, a stadium that seats 32,000 and is located in the University of Houston. A lease of three years was signed to play in this stadium while the plans form a new stadium is concluded.
On December 15, 2005 when all the San Jose Earthquakes squad was relocated, due to the AEG could not assure a soccer-specific facility. In 2007, the Earthquakes managed to revive, and then The Dynamo became a new team. |
The two Dynamo's supports groups are called The Texian Army and El Batallón. The Dynamo's rival is FC Dallas, with which compete annually in the Texas Derby, in which Houston managed to win the 2006 and the 2007 series title.
