For the Open Cup, they have failed to qualify only twice in their history, appearing 11 times and in the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup they have only appeared twice, reaching the semifinals in 2002. They have yet to make their first appearance in the SuperLiga.

During the campaign of 2007 the team achieved a fifth place in the East Conference and made it to the semifinals. For last season 2008, the club got the fourth place in the East Conference and made it just until the quarterfinals losing against the current champion the Columbus Crew.

Current Brazilian Coach Onalfo has been part of the team since the 2007 campaign; he has been part of the D.C. United as well as the US National Team. The present technical director is Peter Vermes.

For the 2008 and 2009 seasons the Wizards play their home games at the Community America Ballpark which seats approximately 12,000 spectators. The team will proceed with the construction of a new facility by the 2010 season.
