Kak�
Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, known as Kak� around the globe's soccer circles, was born on April 22th, 1982 in Brasília. He is one of the most prominent Brazilian football players from our times.
His career started at a very young age, thanks to a local tournament where he was playing for 'Alphaville', the soccer team of the school he assisted to. At the tournament's final an agent from S�o Paulo FC (SPFC) saw him and made him an offer he accept, and from then on he started to growth his football career.
Although he signed his first contract with SPFC when he was fifteen years old, he had by then played with the group for seven years. At his 18, a year before reaching the Brazilian highest football league (Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A) with S�o Paulo, Kak� suffered an accident in a swimming pool that caused him an spinal fracture, that was close to leave him paralytic.
On 2003 Ricardo expanded his horizons and moved with his talent to the Italian Serie A club AC Milan, where he learned to combine the Brazilian and European styles perfectly.
Along with the Rossoneri has obtained several honours at a national and international level, like the Scudetto in 2004, the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup 2007. With the Brazilian national team won the FIFA's 2002 World Cup and the 2005 Confederations Cup.
Individually owns a long list of trophies and achievements; which although they started to pile up since 2002 in Brazil, they did started to arrive more often with his transfer to Milan, especially after season 2006-2007.
On February 2008 Kak� got an extension of five years for his contract with Il Diavolo. Nevertheless, in 2009 the huge proposal of �100 million for the Brazilian was made by Manchester City. But after a week of consideration and a discussion between both clubs and the footballer, it was announced that the midfielder was going to stay in Milan; where, as he has affirmed, he wants to "grow old".
