Date of Birth: October 30th, 1976
Position: Forward
Clubs: Malta Carib Alcons, New Orlean Riverboat Gamblers, Columbus Crew, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City
Stern John is a Trinidadian football player who currently plays for Coventry City F.C. He is a centre forward. John led the league with 26 goals (and also with 57 points to be named the MLS Scoring Champion) in 1998. He was named to the MLS Best XI that year as well, and tied for the lead with 18 goals in 1999.
After the 1999 season with Columbus, John was acquired by Nottingham Forest of the English First Division for a fee of £1.5 million. Due to some financial difficulties at Forest following the team's failed bid at promotion forced John's sale to Birmingham City of the FA Premier League for the sum of £100,000, having scored 18 goals in 49 starts for Forest.
During his first season in 2004 with Coventry, John finished as the team's second highest goal scorer managing to score 12 goals despite starting in barely half of Coventry's games.
John was loaned to Derby County in September 2005, but he rejoined Coventry three months later.
He's now one of Trinidad and Tobago's most renowned players worldwide. As a matter of fact, Stern is widely regarded as one of the more potent strikers in the CONCACAF region with a prolific international scoring record which now reads 60 goals in 81 matches.
