The Central American Football Union commonly known by UNCAF represents the national football teams of Central America: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.
The UNCAF Nations Cup is played every two years, starting in 1991, and usually features the 7 national teams.
Costa Rica is the most successful team and reigning champion, winning the cup in 1991, 1997, 1999, 2003 and 2005. Honduras has won the cup twice (1993 and 1995). Guatemala won the tournament in 2001. This tournament usually runs as a qualification round for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
