This team was founded in 1999 and at the beginning; its name was Orlando Miracle. In 2003, this team was bought by the Mohegan tribe and changed its name to Connecticut Sun.
They were incorporated to the WNBA that same year as the Connecticut Sun and started playing at the Mohegan Sun Arena, which is located inside the Mohegan Sun Casino.
During their seasons as Connecticut Sun, they have managed to make it to every Conference final, except for 2007’s season. They have an average record of .623 and this season they are expecting to make it again.
