The Seattle Storm is one of the most recently created in the WNBA league since it was included in 2000.
The Storms basically arrived at the moment when the league was being expanded, therefore, other three teams were also incorporated.
The team managed to win the 2004 conference and WNBA championship by defeating Minnesota, Sacramento and Connecticut in the playoffs. This was an incredible performance as the Storm obtained a record of 20-14.
After the 2004 solid victory the team has not been able to move further up the first round; their overall record stands at 134 wins, 147 loses and a winning-loss percentage of .477.
Some of the individual achievements obtained by Storm players are: two WNBA MVP Award won by Lauren Jackson and a WNBA Finals MVP award won by Betty Lennox in 2004.
More recently at the beginning of 2008 the team was sold to a Force 10 hoops, LLC which will keep the team within Seattle, however the team will be detach completely from the NBA Seattle Supersonics.
