Swin Cash wore a USA Basketball uniform for the first time on her debut during the 2004 USA Senior National Team's three-game sweep of Cuba in Havana. She had her best outing, 12 points and seven rebounds, in the USA's opening game, a 73-37 victory.

In her first stint in a USA Basketball uniform, Cash helped the United States to a 13-0 record and was the fifth best scorer overall, averaging 9.6 ppg. and adding 5.5 rpg. and 2.0 apg. She was officially named to the 2004 squad in May, her stats and skills on the court during the team's training camps won her one of the coveted spots on the 2004 USA squad.

Cash was selected as the No. 2 pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock, behind University of Connecticut and 2004 USA teammate Sue Bird.
During the playoffs, Cash again posted high marks as the Shock downed Cleveland and Connecticut en route to their best of three series over Los Angeles for the 2003 WNBA championship. During the eight playoff contests, Cash averaged a team best 17.5 ppg., and ranked second in rebounding at 7.5 rpg., behind Cheryl Ford (10.0 rpg.).

A three-time Big East Conference All-Tournament selection, in Big East play, Cash was named to the 2002 All-Big East first team, earned second team honors in 2001 and received a third team nod as a sophomore in 2000.
Cash currently ranks eighth among all-time Huskies in points (1,583), sixth in rebounds (910) and seventh in blocked shots (130) and field goal percentage (.551).
