San Sebastian Gipuzkoa Basket is located at Donosia, Basque Country and it was founded in 2001.

The team began competing in the LEB league. In the 2005-06 season GBC had a great campaign and managed to be promoted to the ABC League for the first time, however, their first season in the major league wasn’t very successful and after finishing in the 18th position they were relegated to the LEB again.

In the season 2007-08, the team finished in the 3rd position of the LEB and was promoted once more to the ABC starting the season 2008-09.

The team is leaded by head coach Pablo Laso and their home arena is the Pabellón de Toros Illumbe.
