The Malaga Basketball club has been active in the league for approximately 25 years as a result of the merger of the Unicaja Ronda and the Mayoral Maristas team. During this period the team managed to win one Korac Cup in 2000, one Copa del Rey in 2004 and more recently one Spanish Cup in 2005. For the previous 2007 campaign the team was placed in the eighth position in the ACB league while being led by the Italian head coach Sergio Scariolo who is also assisted by Chus Mateo and Andrija Gavrilovic. |
Some of the team’s most outstanding players who are part of the Malaga group current roster are: point guard Carlos Cabezas, center German Gabriel, small forward Carlos Jimenez and shooting guard Alfonso Sanchez.
