The team is one with the longest history in the sport; it was first created in 1959 as the C.D. Baskonia until 1983 when the name changed to Caja Alava but it was just for a brief period and only one year later the name changed again to Taugres/Tau Ceramica.
The Tau Ceramica has an incredible background as it has one three different Spanish Super Copas in 2005, 2006, and 2007 as well as 2 Spanish Championships in 2002 and 2008.
The team’s head coach is the Montenegrin Dusko Ivanovic and assistants Ibon Navarro and David Gil. Amongst some of the players who are currently included in the roster are: point guard Pablo Pigrioni, shooting guards Ander Garcia, Sergi Vidal, and Lucho Fernandez, and centres Tiago Splitter and Will McDonald. |
