AEK Athens BC is a basketball club from the first division of the Greek League (HEBA); it is established in the capital of Greece, Athens.
The team was founded in 1924 and it is been during its history one of the most succesful teams in the country. Including among their titles two Saporta Cups. AEK was the first ever sports team to win an international championship.
Since 1963 the Yellow-Blacks have been playing in the first division, this make them, along with Panathinaikos and Aris Thessaloniki, one of the three clubs that's been for the longest time in the premier league of HEBA.
The last titles won by the AEK came at the beginning of the 2000s, when they won their second Saporta Cup in 2000, 2 Greek Cups (2000 and 2001) and a Greek Championship in the 2002.
