Olimpia Milano
Olimpia Milano was founded in 1936 and it is based in Milan, the club is owned by Adolfo Bogoncelli. From 1936 to 1955 Borletti was the team’s sponsor but in 1955 it changed to Simmenthal until 1973. Among other sponsors we can mention Cinzano.
As of 1957 there were foreign players who became part of the team, fact that made the club win the LEGA Basket Serie A Championship.
During the 1980s, the team won the LEGA Serie A, the European Championship, the Italian Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
In 1994 the basketball club was purchased by Bepi Stefanel then in 1996 the club won the Italian Cup basically its 25th championship the same year they were celebrating the 60th anniversary.
Throughout the years there have been several managers and ownerships (1998 through 2004) among which we can mention Hugo Sconochini, Warren Kidd, Petar Naumoski and Claudio Coldebella.
In 2004 the current ownership includes Adriano Galliani (President of Italian soccer club A.C. Milan), Massimo Moratti (vice president of rival Internazionale), and stylist Giorgio Armani.
In 2006 Djordejvic was selected was the club’s new coach while the Euroleague undergoes a disappointing season.
