Scavolini Pesaro
Victoria Libertas Pesaro is known around Europe as Scavolini Pesaro, from the name of their main sponsor and former president, Valter Scavolini.
Victoria Libertas was founded in 1946 and had its best seasons in the 1980s; it won the European Cup Winner's Cup in 1983, the Italian League in 1988 and 1990 and the Italian Cup in 1985 and 1992. It was between the best teams in Europe in recent years and played the Euroleague in 2001/02 and 2004/05 seasons.
In July 2005, the team was degraded from the Italian Basketball League due to the poor administration of the previous two seasons. Between the 2005/06 and 2006/2007 seasons, the team received important investments with the intention to bring it back to the League. Also, players from the upper divisions were enrolled and soon the team was promoted two years in a row, passing from the Third Division on 2005/06 season to the First Division for the 2007/08.
