This club emerged after the union of two Roman teams from the lower division (San Saba and Gruppo Borgo Cavalleggeri ). Shortly after the club changed its name to Pallacanestro Virtus Roma. The team plays its home games at the PalaLottomatica which has a capacity of 11,200 spectators.
