Pallacanestro Treviso / Benetton Basket Treviso
The club is original from Treviso, it is known for its sponsorship name Benetton. At present the club competes in the Euro League and the Serie A.
The team was founded in 1954 but in 1990 it emerges as a major force in the country of Italy and Europe respectively.
During its early stages the team participates in the Serie C (1976) followed by a quick catch of a Serie B spot thanks to the union of societies. In 1979 the club is promoted to Serie A2. In 1981 the team emigrates to Padova.
In 1982 the Benetton Family became owners of the society and Gianni Furlan took over as president. A couple of years later the team climbs to A1. Luciano Bortoletto returns in 1986 and trainer Riccardo Sales takes the lead.
The Benetton close then the regular phase in 5° position breaking on the 3rd match against Messaggero Roma, classificating 5^ obtaining again the access to Korac Cup. In the summer of '91 A.P. TREVISO becomes Pallacanestro Treviso and Bortoletto the president in-charge.
