• In 1989 the United Arab Emirates joined as a member the International Cricket Council the
• In 1994 the National Cricket team won the ICC Trophy
• In 2004 the team competed in the ICC Intercontinental Cup for the first time
• In 2005 the National team competed in the ICC Intercontinental Cup for the second time but were eliminated in the semifinal
• In November 2007, the UAE will play in Division Two of the ICC World Cricket League
