11th Stage: Lannemezan → Foix, 167,5km

This stage is a hilly and consists of 166 km route. Foix is located at the heart of the department of Ariège and at the foot of the Pyrenees, symbolized by the three towers of its castle. This occasion it will be the finish city of the stage which starts in Lannemezan and will see the riders hiking the Col de la Crouzette (11,6 km à 7,1%). It also will be along the foothills of the Pyrenees. The group will ride on hilly, twisting roads. It won’t be a tough stage but the pace will be fast and the riders will try not to loose time.
Lannemezan: Located halfway between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, with Toulouse only an hour away and Pau a mere forty-five minutes it is also a community of the Hautes-Pyrénées department in southwestern France. City of a thousand palm trees, lying close to the legendary Pyrenean passes, to Spain and to the Atlantic. Lannemezan has been 3 times stage town of the Tour.
Foix: located at the heart of the department of Ariège and at the foot of the Pyrenees, symbolized by the three towers of its castle. It lies south of Toulouse, close to the border with Spain and Andorra. It is the least populous administrative center of a department in all of France and boasts an attractive city center with true historical authenticity. Foix has been 2 times stage town, the first time was in 2001 and the most recent in 2007.
