15th Stage: Embrun → Prato Nevoso, 216 km

This fifteenth stage is the first at the Alps and it will begin in Embrun and will go passing through the Col Agnel (21 km at 6,5%) to Prato Nevoso (11,1 km at 7,1%) in the province Cuneo in Italy. For the other hand, this route is a mountain stage and will be of 185km.
Embrun: Embrum is situated in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes and the border to Provence. It is also located between Gap and Briançon and at the eastern end of the largest artificial lake in Europe “the Lac de Serre-Ponçon”. Embrun lies between lakes and mountains and the town is referred to as the “little Nice of the Alps”. The city is a major centre for tourism activity and is a dynamic city which has planned for harmonious growth. The city currently has a population of 6700 inhabitants
Prato Nevoso: is situated at 1480 m altitude above sea level, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Prato Nevoso is a ski and holiday resort in northern Italy in the heart of a ski area known as Mondolé Ski. The town is part of the district Frabosa Sottana and has 2,400 inhabitants. Prato Nevoso will serve as the finish line for a stage in the Tour de France which will be its first time.
