8th Stage: Figeac Toulouse, 174 km

This halfway stage will let some riders to acquire a big breath after the Massif Central stages, whereas other riders will utilize this stage to win previous to actually going in the mountains. This stage is flat and is 174km long. The starting point in this eighth stage is Figeac and the ending point is Toulouse which is the fourth largest city in France and capital of the Midi-Pyrénées region. This stage will open the entrée to the Pyrenees which has no major complications and riders could take advantage of it.

Figeac: is a town in the Lotin department Quercy, Midi-Pyrénées, southwestern of France. Hometown of Jean-François Champollion, Figeac also has an Egyptian way of essence to it.

Toulouse: is a city in southwest France on the banks of the Garonne River, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Toulouse has 1,117,000 inhabitants and is a metropolitan area which is the fifth-largest in France and the fastest growing in Europe. Toulouse has been stage town 25 times for the Tour de France.
