9th Stage: Toulouse → Bagnères-de-Bigorre, 222 km
Sunday 13 July
In this stage of 222 kilometres the riders can use this stage to broad standings, for the reason that there will be no less than 3 mountains to climb. Formerly after they left Toulouse, the 25th time stage town, the first mountain will be the Col des Ares (6 km), then the Col de Peyresourde (13,2km) and lastly the Col d'Aspin (12,1 km) before descending to Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The huge moves will start occurring now with a diminution of than three mountain passes and a very hard final descent to Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The riders should take this occasion to rise to the top of the overall positions.
Toulouse: was the host town in the last stage.
Bagneres-de-Bigorre: is located on the Adour river. It is a commune of southwestern France, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, of which it is a “sous-préfecture”. It has a population of 8,052 inhabitants. This town enjoys exceptional natural surroundings perfectly suited for sports and outdoor activities all year around. Bagneres-de-Bigorre has been 9 times stage town host of the Tour de France.
