Since 1905 Chelsea has been part of the English Football Elite, but it wasn't until 1955 that they became popular by winning the League Champions.
Chelsea won more than a few cup competitions at some stage in the 1960s and 1970s, but did not win an additional key title until 1997.
It does not appear odd that Chelsea, who have never claimed the title of European champions, are ranked second by UEFA, their level of consistency in this competition means they are up there with the best for this season.
Chelsea ruled the premiership during the 2005 -06 seasons and their new supporter, Didier Drogba proved to be good value for the team.
