The Le Havre Athletic Club FA is the oldest club in France and was established originally in 1872. The club is famous for its prominent youth investment program which develops and care for young football players. The team had plenty of success in its early days, becoming French Champions three times, in 1899, 1900 and 1919.

During the last five seasons Le Havre had been playing in Ligue 2. Nevertheless, they won the French second division title in 2008, having a great performance with a total of 22 wins, 4 loses and 12 draws and were promoted to Ligue 1 for season 2008-09.

Le Havre AC has played 24 seasons at Ligue 1 and 27 seasons at Ligue 2. At Ligue 1, Le Havre has a record of 253-362. The club’s biggest victory in their history was during the season 1953-54 when they defeated 10-0 to FC Sete at home.
