Since its creation in 1900, the club has become the most famous and successful in Germany and has revenues of 50 million Euros per year.
With a National championship in 1932, the team had to wait until 1970’s to reach its potential and by winning the European Cup three times in a row, they made history.
The team has been focusing on the internal National Championship the past 30 years, achieving the title 18 times from 1970 to 2008.
The team managed to remain firm on the table despite the fact social and financial situations were affecting the club during the 1980’s.
Former player Franz Beckenbauer returned to coach the team in the mid 1990’s helping the club to achieve the UEFA Cup in 1996.
The 21st century tested the team’s skills as many Division 2 teams such as Alemannia Aachen defeated the club on important regional cup tournaments.
As per team’s manager Jürgen Klinsmann, after a year's absence from European club football's showcase event, Bayern will accept nothing but the title this season 2008-09, and with new signings on the table; they will aim for a UEFA position.
The team wants to re-establish themselves among the continent's elite one more time.
