The Borussia Mönchengladbach is one of the most famous and most supported German football franchises.
Founded in 1900, it took 20 years to the club's first title: the West German Championship.
In 1960, the club earned the German Cup, their first national title.
With 3 consecutive championships on the 1970s, the golden era came to an end during the early 80’s. Many clubs went into depression and had to sell their players to support the financial burden; Die Fohlen was one of them.
By the beginnings of the 21st century, the club had overcome financial issues and with a new stadium, they worked 8 years to finally achieve the Bundesliga one more time in 2007-08 season.
New Manager Hans Meyer wants the team to incorporate the newcomers properly this season 2008-09.
