In 1897, the club decided to concentrate on League dominance.
The statement worked very well and from 1905 to 1970 the team ruled national and international tournaments.
In the early 1980's they were fully focused on the European stage.
During 1990, the team entered the Lippi era (named after coach Marcelo Lippi). They became the cream of the crop with players such as Zidane, Inzagui and Davids.
The team has been away from Europe two seasons due to the Italian fixing scandals in which they were involved and even had to face relegation for the first time in the club's history during season 2006-07.
Since season 08-09, they are back where they belong: the Serie A.
With the arrival of the new coach Ciro Ferrara, Juventus looks likely to make an impact in the League with some old faces such as Buffon, Nedved Del Piero, and Trezeguet still at the club.
