FC Barcelona

The Futbol Club Barcelona was created in 1899. They were one of the founders of La Liga in 1928 and never have been close to relegation in their history.

Barça was the first team to win La Liga title and since then, they have won a total of 18 Championships, along with other domestic titles such as 24 Copa del Rey and 7 Supercopa de España. In European competitions, they have won 2 UEFA Champions League and 4 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup among others.

In the most recent seasons, Barça won La Liga in consecutive years in 2004-05 and 2005-06, this last one being the most successful year since they also won the UEFA Champions League and the Supercopa de España. During the last two seasons, the Culés finished in the second and third place of the table respectively and both times reached the most important competition in Europe.

For La Liga season and the Champions League for 08-09, the team is very be optimistic that the arrival of new manager Josep ‘Pepe’ Guardiola has put an end to the many disputes that the club carried of his predecessor Frank Rijkaard.
