Since 1933 all the way to its restructure on 1994, it became one of the most historical football clubs.
They grew form 3rd division into 2nd division, carrying financial and political problems on the way.
The team was first promoted to La Liga in 1949 and since then, the team has been back and forth several times.
More recently, they were relegated to the 2nd division one again after season 2005-06, but the club’s fortunes took a turn for the better during season 2007/8 and they are back in La Liga for the current season.
López Muñiz made 11 sharp signings in the summer, all free transfers or lend players, some of the players curved out to be top quality and Málaga were never out of the top three places in La Segunda all season.
Antonio Tapia is back to take the manager's position, his job will be to merge and keep the club in La Primera, which many think he has a good chance of doing.
