The Open de España also known as the Spanish Open is a national open golf championship held at the San Roque Golf Club during the month of April.
Since 1972 it has been part of the European Tour's schedule and the event itself was created in 1912.
Important Facts
- It has had several sponsored names and is currently called the Andalucía Open de España Valle Romano.
- Former champions include: Arnold Palmer, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, and Nick Faldo
- 2007 the tournament was held at the Spanish Golf Federation's new Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid, with a prize fund of €2 million.
