- The European Handball Federation or EHF represents the national handball associations of Europe
- In 1946, the International Handball Federation was founded by eight European nations, but some non-European nations participate in the World Championships
- EHF started on November 17, 1991 in Berlin, Germany
- The sport of Handball is played on a court forty meters long by twenty meters (40mx20m) wide, with a dividing line in the middle and a goal in the center of either end.
- The 2006 tournament was held in Switzerland, in the cities of Basel, Berne, Lucerne, St Gallen and Zürich and France won the tournament by defeating Spain to a 26–29 final score
