Important Facts
European Championships
- The European Championships is the ELF's prime event and takes place once every four years.
- The first European championships took place in 1995 and six nations participated in the tourney to be celebrated in Prague, ( Czech Republic).
- The following years annual European Championships were held (with the exception of 1998 where the World Championships took place) but in 2001 it was decided to adopt a four-year cycle
- The latest championship was held in 2004 in which 12 men’s and 6 women’s teams participated turning it in the largest international lacrosse event.
- The upcoming European Championship will be held in Finland in 2008
