Agnieszka Radwanska is a skilled Polish tennis player, who competes on the WTA. Her best weapon is her two-handed backhand.
Agnieszka began her professional career in 2005. On that same year she was crowned junior champion at Wimbledon.
In 2006, Radwanska participated in the Tier II Warsaw Open, her first WTA tournament, in which she reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Elena Dementieva.
In the French Open, she defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final, thus she claimed her second Junior Grand Slam Title. This gave her a wildcard spot to participate in Wimbledon. Kim Clijsters eliminated her in the fourth round.
In the U.S. Open, she could not advance to the second round as Tatiana Golovin eliminated her. In the Fortis Championships in Luxembourg, Agnieszka defeated Venus Williams and Dementieva in the way, reaching the semi-finals but losing against lower-ranked Francesca Schiavone.
In the 2007 Tier I Sony Ericsson Open, Agnieszka reached the fourth round, where she lost to Tathiana Garbin. In the Istanbul Cup, along with her sister Urszula, she won her first doubles title of the WTA in her career. In singles, Maria Sharapova eliminated her during the quarterfinals.
In the Nordea Nordic Light Open, she won her first single Tier IV title. In the U.S. Open she reached the fourth round, where Shahar Pe’er eliminated her.
In the 2008 Australian Open, Agnieszka advanced to the quarterfinals. She lost against Daniela Hantuchova. In the Pattaya Women's Open, she won her second singles title in the WTA by beating Jill Craybas in the final.
In the Istanbul Cup 2008, Radwanska won her third singles title of the WTA. Then, in the French Open she didn’t do very well after losing to Jelena Janković 6-3, 7-6 (3). Later, in grass court, Agnieszka won the International Women's Open tournament. In Wimbledon, Serena Williams beat her in the quarterfinals.
In the U.S. Open, Venus Williams eliminated her in the fourth round.
Agnieszka had a good start in the 2009, which led her to the Australian Open. There she suffered an unexpected defeat in three sets against Kateryna Bondarenko in the first round.
In Wimbledon she advanced to the quarterfinals for the third time in her career in Grand Slams. Again it was Serena Williams who left her out. This was the second consecutive year in which Agnieszka ended as world No.19.
In the 2010 Australian Open, Agnieszka Radwanska was eliminated in the third round by Francesca Schiavone, 6-2, 6-2. In the 2010 Dubai Tennis Championships, she could not advance to the semi-finals, but despite this result she is situated in eighth place of the world rankings.
